"Spiders get into peoples homes, and into people's houses and in the bedrooms, he said.

The majority of spiders in Calgary are harmless, with most of the cases involving daddy long legs, he said.

But of course you get the calls for the black widows and other types of spiders."

Holland said has seen some serious spider infestations this year.

"And it's not just one or two cobwebs. It's crazy amounts of cobwebs, and so that's when we get the calls and people just want to make sure they can sit in the garden, have a barbecue, relax and enjoy themselves."

The simplest way to avoid getting caught in a web of spiders is by keeping your house clean, Holland said.
