Steve Martin to headline fundraiser for Calgary art gallery
Comedian, author and musician is devotee of Canadian art
Steve Martin is making a trip to our fair cityto help raise funds for Contemporary Calgary.
The group's goal is toestablish a full-fledged modern andcontemporary art gallery in Calgary.

The noted comedian, authorand musician will be talking about Canadian artwith writerAdam Gopnik of The New Yorker magazine.
Martin is a longtime art collectorand co-curated the touring exhibitionThe Idea of North: The Paintings of Lawren Harris, which features30 pieces from iconic Canadian landscape artist Lawren Harris.
Martin and Gopnikwill be featured guests at Contemporary Calgary's LOOK2016fundraising event on Oct. 22.
Tickets range from $500 to $2,000, although a limited number has been set aside for $95 for those under the age of 35.The money raised will pay for renovations of new exhibition space, locatedin the former Centennial Planetarium otherwise known as the old science centre.
