Calgary police recover $1.3M in stolen property, including 47 vehicles

Calgary police have recovered more than $1.3 million in stolen property, including 47 stolen vehicles, after an investigation into a string of break-in robberies.

Investigators with the CPS break-and-enter team also recovered tools, bobcats, generators and recreational property such as boats, ATVs and trailers in the bust.

The investigation resulted in more than 100 charges against four people:

• Jason Howard Little, 34, has been charged with 65 offences and has 13 outstanding warrants.
• Brandon Stevens, 24, faces 30 charges and 25 outstanding warrants.
• Ralph Huizingas faces eight charges includingthree counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000.
• Amanda Heino has been charged with three counts of breach of a recognizance.

Police believe the suspects were responsible for three separate break-and-enter robberies at a southeast Calgary business in which a stolen vehicle was used to tow Mastercraft sport boats off the premises.

Investigators think those thefts were connected with an earlier string of break-ins at vehicle dealerships across Calgary in which 17 vehicles worth more than $1 million were stolen.

Search warrants were carried out at a residence in the 5100 block of Maryvale Drive N.E., as well as at two rural properties in Mountain View County and one in Rocky View County with the assistance of the RCMP.
