Calgary police say a man whoallegedly faked having cancer as part of a fundraising scamhas been arrested in B.C.

They say 28-year-old Kristopher Cook was arrested in Victoria after a tip from the public.

He'll be sent back to Calgary in the next few days.

Investigators say a silent auction was held by Calgary's music community last July to raise more than $7,500for his cancer treatment.

Friends claim they did his work, paid his rent and took him to and from the hospital.

It was only later that friends began to suspect the money wasn't being used for anything medical, and questioned whether the man even had cancer.

Cook is charged with two counts of fraud.
