Award winning singer-songwriter Steve Earle is on the bill for this years Calgary Folk Music Festival, organizers announced Tuesday.

Steve Earle and the Dukes will perform on Saturday, July 27, at the 34th annual festival on Princes Island.

Organizers also announced that M. Wards trio and Kurt Vile and the Violators will be at the festival on Thursday, July 25, and Sunday, July 28, respectively.

Earle recently released his 14th studio album, I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive.

"The unpretentious, insightful prose of the oft-covered Grammy-winning artist and celebrated actor Steve Earle has been highlighted through recordings that encompass biting rock creations, minimalist beauty and politically charged masterpieces," the festival said in a release.

Singer-songwriter M. Ward, a mainstay of the music scene in Portland, is also a member of She & Him and Monsters of Folk.

Kurt Vile is a Philadelphia-based indie musician and producer who cites Bruce Springsteen, Pavement and Tom Petty as influences.

This years festival runs July 25-28 at Princes Island Park. The full lineup will be announced on April 25.
