CBC Back in the Saddle Block Party and fundraiser

CBC Calgary turns its annual Stampede breakfast kickoff on July 4 into an day-long block party and fundraiser for flood victims.

Full day event on Thursday, July 4 at CBC Calgary

The event takes place at the CBC, 1724 Westmount Blvd. NW (just off Memorial Drive) on Thurs., July 4 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CBC)

Join us for the "Back in the Saddle" fundraising blitz for flood victims this Thursday at CBC Calgary.

There will be celebrity guests, live music and free food. All we're asking from you is to make a donation to the Calgary Foundation (more information below).

The day will start at6 a.m.with CBC Radio's The Calgary Eyeopener with David Gray and Angela Knight broadcasting live from our parking lot.

From7-10 a.m., it's the annual CBC Co-op Stampede Breakfast (gluten-free breakfast available). Coffee is courtesy of Van Houtte. Matt Masters will be our musical guest.

From10-12 p.m., CBC Radio's Katherine Duncan takes over the stage. She'll be joined by folk rockers Locomotive Ghost.

From11-2:30 p.m., the folks from Alberta Beef Producers will be at CBC Calgary serving up steak sandwiches free for all.

From12-1 p.m., it's Holly Preston and Alberta@Noon. Calgary band Rustic Brothers will continue to provide live entertainment after the radio show.

At2 p.m.,country legend Ian Tyson will joins us for a special set of music dedicated to those affected by flooding.

From3-6 p.m., The Homestretch takes over the stage. Doug Dirks and Jenny Howe will be joined by musical act, Magnolia Buckskin.

From 3-6 p.m. Papa John's will be offering free pizza.

Carla Beynon will host our local television program, CBC News Calgary, from outside our building from5-6:30 p.m. This is your chance to get a glimpse of what it's like behind the scenes of a live TV broadcast.

CBC Calgary is located at 1724 Westmount Boulevard N.W.

There will be some parking available on the adjacent streets as well as at the Scouts Canada building. Bring your water bottles for water refills, but please leave your pets at home.
