Mounties from the Wetaskiwin, Alta., detachment had their hands full early Saturday morning tracking down two robbery suspects.

They say that after being located by police the suspects were able to flee on ATVs and drive to nearby Camrose, where Mounties along with Camrose Police Service officers tracked them to a city residence.

Police say the two men were arrested there, but one of them managed to escape in an RCMP vehicle.

Investigators say he drove several blocks then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

A K-9 unit was brought in, along with RCMP Air Services, and the suspect was arrested a second time with what police said were "minor injuries."

Both suspects remain in custody with multiple charges pending.
