Flood repairs at the Talisman Centre in Calgary are nearly complete.

Operators of the Talisman Centre along Macleod Trail are hopeful all of the services in the sports complex will be open by the end of September.

The basement of the centre, which contains much of its mechanical equipment, wasfilled with water during the June flood.

The weight room, running track and the lap pool are already open.

"I sure did miss the facility and it's a big loss to have it closed for this long," said Dave Monroe, a former professional swimmer who uses the lap pool three times a week.

"When it comes to operations we're hopeful that by the end of the month everything is back up and running," said Jeff Booke, CEO of the Talisman Centre.

The operators are using the flood repair period to get some extra maintenance done, including scrubbing clean the bottom of the diving pool and installing an extra dive tower.
