Calgary police charge man in relation to trafficking, sexual assault of two teenage girls

A man is facing 10 charges in relation to the trafficking, sexual assault and sexual exploitation of two teenage girls, Calgary police said Monday.

A man is facing 10 charges in relation to the trafficking, sexual assault and sexual exploitation of two teenage girls.

Calgary police said Monday that investigators learned of a man who was advertising sex acts with a 15-year-old girl online, and in exchange for money that the man primarily kept for himself, over the duration of a months-long investigation.

It's believed the girl was briefed on the sexacts she was expected to perform, but otherwise knew few details about the meetings to which she was taken.

The man is also alleged to haveengaged in sexual activity with a 13-year-girl, whom police say he also trafficked in exchange for money, drugs and alcohol.

Ahmed Hassan Duale, 33, was arrested on March 18. He will appear in court on March 24 on 10 charges that include:

  • Two counts of sexual assault.
  • Two counts of obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years of age.
  • One count of material benefit of trafficking from a person under 18 years of age.
  • One count of sexual interference with a child under 16 years of age.
  • One count of trafficking of persons under 18 years of age.
  • Three counts of failure to comply with undertaking.

The Calgary Police Service (CPS)isasking anyone with information involving this investigation to contact Det. Amy Spence at 403-428-5457.

CPS also encourages anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault to report it to police.

Victims of sexual assault can report incidents to police by calling 403-266-1234, or 911 if they are in immediate danger.

There is no time limit on how long a victim has to report a sexual assault in Canada.
