House fire leaves two dead in central Alberta town
The fatal fire happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday morning in Trochu
Two people are dead after a house fire in acentral Alberta town Sunday morning.
Around 4 a.m. on Sept. 4, Three Hills RCMP received a call of a home on fire with people trapped insideon School Road in the town of Trochu, Alta.,locatedapproximately 148 kilometres northeast ofCalgary.
RCMP and Trochu Fire responded to the residence, butsaid although active rescue efforts were made, two people a 68-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were found dead.
They are believed to be the only occupants of the home.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Three Hills RCMP and the Trochu Fire Department continue to investigate.
