Calgary-area men arrested in largest Utah meth bust, says highway patrol

Three Calgary-area men are facing drug charges in the United States after Utah highway patrol officers seized 104 kilograms of meth hidden in a pickup pulled over near Provo.

Three Calgary-area men are facing drug charges in the United States after Utah Highway Patrol officers seized 104 kilogramsof meth hidden in a pickup pulled over near Provo.

A Ford F-150 was pulled over about 3 p.m. Monday, according to a release, after the driver made traffic violations south of Salt Lake City.

Capt. Tyler Kotter told the Deseret News in Utah the trooper noticed three men inside the truck were acting nervously so he deployed his K-9, Diesel.

The drugs were hidden in boxes and suitcases along with steroids and $66,000 in cash.

Troopers also told theDeseretNewsthatthe haul ofmethis worth about $1.5 million wholesale but can fetch as much as 10 times that amount on the street. It's being called the largestmethamphetaminebust in the state's history.

Two men from Calgaryaged 19 and 20 and one man from Airdrieare now facing charges of possession with intent to distribute.
