Vagabond Brewery offers Calgary's fanciest (and priciest) burger

Topped with black truffle cheese, foie gras, duck confit, tomato and lettuce, Vagabond Brewery is now offering a $100 burger on its menu.

Would you pay $100 dollars for a high-end burger?

The folks at Vagabond Brewery think soand now have oneon their menu.

"It's something people can eat and tell a story about,'Hey, guess what I did last night. I didn't go the movie, Ididn't go to the zoo. I had this $100 burger and let me tell you about it," said ChefDale Neisz.

The burger is topped with black truffle cheese, red onion jam,foie gras, duck confit, heirloom tomato and lettuce and served on a French-style brioche bun.

Vagabond ownerLee Borschowa said he got the idea down south.

"We want to be in your face, have some fun with it," saidBorschowa. "It's booze and food, it's not rocket science."

But he said customers should come prepared.

"Don't eatfor about five hours before because it's literally like having a Thanksgiving dinner after,"saidBorschowa. "You're just full. You want to lay on the couch and watch somefootball and hockey."

Food writerDan Clapson says the entredefinitely has some shock value to create some buzz.

"A dish of that sizeprobably best shared, not just forone person, unless you want to have it for breakfast, lunch,dinner which I don't think anybody does," he said."Butyou know whathave at 'er."

Customer Brian Ingram decided to give it a go.

"It's gooddefinitely messy," he said with duck fat dripping from his chin.

"The boys challenged me so I couldn't back down from the challenge."

The restaurant says it is selling two to three a day.
