More than two dozen WestJet flights were delayed on Saturday thanks to a "significant" IT outage that affected everything from reservations to check-ins.

"Overall, 55 flights were delayed across the network today and all impacted guests will be on their way to their destination by the end of day," said company spokesperson Lauren Stewart in an emailed statement.

Flights on Sunday are not expected to be impacted, added Stewart.

The outage began just before 9 a.m. and had been corrected by 6 p.m.

Some evening flights at Halifax Stanfield International Airport were also affected by Saturday's disruption.
