Woman called for help after being shot by partner who killed himself, police say

Emergency crews were called to a residence in Radisson Heights-Albert Park just before 2 a.m. by a woman saying she had been shot in a dispute with her partner, police say.

A man is dead and a woman is in hospital afterwhat Calgary police say was an attempted murder and suicide early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were called to a residence in Radisson Heights-Albert Parkin the 1100 block of 35th Street S.E. just before 2 a.m. by a woman saying she had been shot in a dispute with her partner, police say.

Inside the house, officers found a badly injured 44-year-old woman, as well as a15-year-old who was not injured.

Also in the house was a48-year-old man, who was pronounced dead.

The woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but her condition was upgraded to stable later in the day.

Thenames of the family will not be released.
