$77,000 in illegal drugs seized in north Edmonton bust
Cash, cocaine, fentanyl, and Mercedes Benz seized from the home
An Edmonton man is facing a rash of trafficking charges after a valuable stash of illicit drugs, prescription pills, and cash were discovered inside a north Edmonton home.
The Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement Unit searched the home near119th Avenue and 85th Street Monday.
Inside, officers found a long list of illegal narcotics, including fentanyl, a deadly opioid considered 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine or heroin.
The drugs alone have a street value of more than $77,600, according to police.
Police found:
- 56 fentanyl pills with a street value up to $2,260.
- More than $52,000 in Canadian currency.
- 504 g cocaine hydrochloride with a street value up to $50,402.
- 89g cocaine base with a street value up to $8,920.
- 102g of methamphetamine with a street value up to $10,250.
- 195g of MDMA with a street value up to $ 5,632.
- 36 codeine pills with a street value up to $180.
- 4 Xanax pills with a street value up to $20.
Three watches including a Rolex worth $25,000, and a 2011 Mercedes Benz GLK350 were also seized under civil forfeiture.
