Nurses union, Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health negotiators accept recommendations

After 15 months of negotiations, a mediator has helped nurses get closer to a collective agreement with Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health.

The negotiating teams with the United Nurses of Alberta, Convenant Health and AHS have accepted recommendations made by mediator David Jones.

UNA president Heather Smith said she was relieved and pleased.

We have before us now the mediators recommendations that dont take us backwards, she said.

If ratified, the four-year agreement would be retroactive to April 1, 2013, when the last contract expired.

Details will not be released until all parties can review the recommendations.
