Const. EricPomerleauis charged with assault with a weapon (pepper spray), assault causing bodily harm and common assault.
Pomerleau was seen on video entering a police cell at the Red Deer detachment on Aug. 19, 2012, to confront a young man beforethrowing himto the floor. The altercation continuesuntilthe manlies on the floor unmoving.
Pomerleau is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on July 14.
He is now on administrative duties at another detachment in Alberta, the RCMP said.
