Police reported 134 collisions between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The total included 110 property-damage collisions, six injury collisions and 18 hit-and-run collisions.

The city is prepared to send out its full fleet of plows, sanders and graders more than150 pieces of equipment once the snow accumulates to more than three centimetres, it said in a news release Wednesday

When lessthan three centimetres, the city maintainsthe roads as needed, rather than sending out its full fleet.

With snow in the forecast last weekend, the city sent out anti-icing crews to treat select roads, bike lanes and downtown bus stops, the release said.

The anti-icing is part of a pilot project running this winter that sees a calcium chloride solution applied to certain roads in Edmonton.
