Canadians turn to music to support Fort McMurray

Many people have turned to music to express their support for the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfires.

Dozens of music videos are showing up online as tribute to Alberta's resilience

Many people have turned to music to express their support for the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfires.

In the days following the devastating fires, dozens of videos have shown up on Facebook and Youtube with songs about the disaster.

"Bring on the Rain" - Brad Saunders

"This is more of a prayer, as this has been on my heart over the last week and song writing is a way for me to express some of the emotions I'm going through," Saunders writes on his YouTube page.

"Alberta Strong" - Tyler Yeaton

"Strong" - Charlie Alan

Alan says all proceeds from this song go to the Canadian Red Cross.

"The Phoenix" - Open Highway

Open Highway hails all the way from Newfoundland, as domany of Fort McMurray'sworkers.

MacArthur encouraged everyone to donate to the Red Cross and support those trying to rebuild their lives

"For the people of Fort McMurray, from my heart, to yours," Jess writes.

"Unity (A Song For Fort McMurray)" - Andre Pettipas

This song comes fromAntigonish County, Nova Scotia.

"We Are Alberta" - Dustin Farr

"The resiliency that the people of this province have demonstrated day after day kind of inspired me to write a tune about...just how strong we are and willing to pitch in and lend a helping hand whenever somebody is in need," Farr says.

"I See Fire" - Jesse Weiman and Chris Sikorsky(cover)

Weiman and Sikorsky combine footage from the fire with a cover of an Ed Sheeran song, featured inThe Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
