The suspicious deaths of an Edmonton couple last May have been ruled a murder-suicide.

The suspicious deaths of an Edmonton couple last May have been ruled a murder-suicide.

On May 31, police found an unconscious man and a woman inside a bedroom in a southwest Edmonton house.

A barbecue with charred briquettes was also in the room. The couple later died in hospital.

The 50-year-old mans death was ruled a homicide. Police says he was killed by carbon monoxide poisoning and drug intoxication.

The death of the 46-year-old woman was determined to be non-criminal.

A 20-year-old woman also found in the house was treated for carbon monoxide poisoning and released from hospital two days later.
