Dental students hold sock drive for the homeless

Socks are one of the items most needed by agencies in Edmonton. The students collected 348 pairs of socks and raised money to buy 162 more.

University of Alberta dentistry students are feeling really good today after hurling socks at each other. They collected over 500 pairs for Edmonton's homeless and got in some stress relief.They saw the need at the free clinic they run every Saturday at the Boyle McCauley Health Centre.

University of Alberta dentistry students relieved stress and helped the homeless Thursday by staging asock fight at the Butterdome.

Socks are one of the items most needed by agencies in Edmonton. The students collected 348 pairs of socks and raised money to buy 162 more.

After hurling the socks at each other, the students plan to wash and donate them to Boyle McCauley Centre for distribution to the homeless.
