With Edmonton's 2017 municipal election coming up onOct. 16, CBC Edmonton has launched Edmonton Votes 2017.CBC Edmonton will be posting stories concerning the election, including ward and candidate profiles and information to help keep you informed.

Incumbent Andrew Knack faces off against three other candidates in Ward 1, situated in west Edmonton.

Transit is a key election issue in Ward 2, which has the ever-contentious Metro Line LRT system running through it.

The culturally-diverse candidatesofWard 3 will focuson safe streets the Castle Downs area is where a suspected hate incident occurred earlier this year.

Ward 4has a long list ofcandidates vying for outgoing councillorEd Gibbons's spot. Key election issues include the growth in the city's northeast and transit cuts.

Infill isanissue in Ward 5, where some residents say current policieswere not"thought all the way through."

Candidates inWard 6 in the city's downtown will debate solutions to addiction and homelessness issues.

With the future of the coliseumupin the air, six Ward 7candidates will be facing off over what should happen with the site.

Ward 8 is home to Accidental Beach and the issues that come with it. The ward is also home to the University of Alberta.

Ward 9 in the city's southwest has seen huge growth in recent years which has createdtransportation and infrastructure bottlenecks.

Infillhomes is also an issue for constituents in Ward 10where every candidate has identifiedinfill as a major concern.

The Valley Line LRT is the most contentious issue in Ward 11. Construction is expected to cause major traffic delays over the next few years, presenting a major challenge to winningcouncillor.

After last year's byelection, four candidates are challengingMoeBangainWard 12.
