Fatal shooting probed by Edmonton police

Edmonton police are investigatinga killing at a restaurant-lounge early New Year's Day.

Police arrived at the Papyrus Loungeat 3 a.m.local time to investigate areport of a shooting.

Officers found adead man lying on the floor of the lobby. There were still many people in thelounge.

A second man, who had been shot,was taken to hospital withnon-life threatening wounds, police said.

Police believe a fight had broken out in the lounge before the shooting started.

No motive is known andno suspects have been identified.

The Papyrus is located at112 Street and 107 Avenue.
