Foundation of Stantec Tower complete, moves into next phase of construction
Building will be 66 storeys height
Construction moved above grade Thursday on what will be the tallest building in Edmonton, the66-storey Stantec Tower.
"From this point onward, we'll see it move upward, gradually changing Edmonton's vibrant skyline," said Bob Gomes, president and CEO of Stantec.
Stantec plans to consolidate all its Edmonton staff on 19 floors of the building, which is located within the downtown arena district.
The tower will also have 481 residential units, which will be ready in fall 2019, one year after the office portion of the projectis opened.
The building is a development fromStantec and the Edmonton Arena District.
The Rogers Place arena, which will open this fall, is the anchor for development of adjacent hotel and office towers that havebeen branded the "Ice District."
