Hacker group Anonymous accuses 2 Edmonton men of luring

Police are investigating after the hacker group 'Anonymous' claims to have outed two men who allegedly tried to lure underaged girls over the internet.

In a video posted on Friday, a member of Anonymous describes a sting operation in which two Edmonton-area men were allegedly caught trying to meet up with 13- and 14-year-old girls for sex.

The video includes the names, faces and occupations of the two men.

In it, the group claims they contacted Edmonton police about one meeting that was supposed to take place at West Edmonton Mall, but that police did nothing.

Now, Anonymous has warned it will release more photos and names if immediate action is not taken against the alleged offenders.

Bob Andrews, director of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams' Internet Child Exploitation unit, said they are investigating the allegations, but told a press conference they havent yet contacted either of the men named in the video.

This isn't the first time Anonymous has publiclynamed an alleged online perpetrator.

Earlier this year, Anonymous threatened to release the names of the four young men alleged to have assaulted Nova Scotia teenager Rehtaeh Parsons.

Last October, the group released the name and personal information of a man it claimed was behind the death of Port Coquitlam teen Amanda Todd. Police later said the allegations had no merit.
