Edmonton's first homicide victim of 2011 died of a gunshot wound, police said Tuesday.

Edmonton's first homicide victim of 2011 died of a gunshot wound, police said Tuesday.

Mohamud Mohamed Jama, 23, was shot around 3 a.m. Saturday in the Papyrus Lounge at 111th Street and 107th Avenue. The cause of death was determined after an autopsy Tuesday afternoon.

Police have no suspects and have made no arrests.

When police arrived at the club, they found Jama dead on the floor of the lobby. Many people were still inside the club.

They are urging witnesses to come forward with information that could help them make an arrest.

A 26-year-old man who was wounded in the same incident was taken to hospital, where he isrecovering.
