It's been 30 years this week since a car on the Minderbender roller-coaster at West Edmonton Mall derailed, killing three.

It's been 30 years since acar on West Edmonton Mall's Mindbender roller-coaster derailed, killing three.

The following morning, curtains were pulled across the entrances and police stationed at the doors of the indoor amusement park once called Fantasyland.

Inside, officials with the homicide squad and multiple government agencies tried to determine what had happened.

Reporter WarrenMichaelsspoke with twoStettlerteenagers who were on the roller-coaster at the time of the accident. The pair were suspended upside down when the coaster came to an abrupt halt on one of the loops.

"You could feel something going bang bang bang all the way down, and you didn't know know what was happening because it was shaking a lot,"Carrie Kobe told reporters.

Nineteen people were taken to hospital withinjuries.
