Nine shows at Rogers Place for superstar Garth Brooks

Fans are snapping upGarth Brooks tickets as fast as they become available, and the country music superstar is leaving no Unanswered Prayers.

Brooks will now playa total of nine shows at Rogers Place in February, his publicists said Thursday.

But "no more shows will be added," they cautioned in a news release.

Tickets went on sale Thursday for the latest four shows added since the first two concerts went on sale Dec. 9.

Brooks tweeted Thursday afternoon that more than 140,000 tickets have been sold for the nine shows.

The shows are:

• Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
• Sunday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
• Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.
• Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
• Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.

Brooks is the top-selling solo artist in U.S. history, with sales of more than 138 million albums.

He is currently on a three-year world tour with his wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood.

Brooks, the 2016 Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year, is no stranger to strings of sold-out shows in each city he visits.

During a 1996-'98 tour, he played 350 shows in 100 cities, selling more than 5.3 million tickets. In 1998 alone, he sold more than 1.8 million tickets, more than any other touring act that year.

Brooks briefly retired from the music business in 2001 to spend time with his three daughters.

But he released a top-selling boxed set in 2005, the same year he married Yearwood.

In 2008, he performed five concerts in two days in California. In 2010, he played nine sold-out shows in six days to raise money for flood relief in Tennessee.

His shows are lauded as expansive spectacles.

At a recent performance in Greenville, S.C., Brooksplayed 23 tunes before a nine-song first encore. For the second encore, he performed Don McLean's classic American Pie.
