Eddy Mushibuka would have been happy to have won $12,500 in the June 5 Lotto Max draw, but the final total had several extra zeroes tacked on at the end.

The Ottawa man purchased his $12.5M-winning ticket at a Safeway gas bar in west Edmonton last month.

"I had no idea I had won anything until I went to the store," he remembered. "The retailer looked at me and said, 'You won $12,500!'"

"I looked at the screen and said, 'It looks like more zeros than that,'" he said.

"Then she said 'it's $12,500,000.'"

Mushibuka plans to use some of his winnings to buy a new house, and maybe a car. After that, he's thinking about taking a couple vacations.

His ticket, matching the numbers 2, 10, 13, 16, 30, 33 and 48, was one of four winners sharing the $50-million jackpot. Of the four winning tickets, two were sold in Alberta, one in B.C. and one in Ontario.
