Edmonton police released the names of the city's two latest homicide victims Friday.

Edmonton police released the names of the city's two latest homicide victims Friday.

Abdul Kadir Mohamoud, 23, was found dead in Grand Trunk Park near 109th Street and 130th Avenue in north Edmonton Tuesday morning.

An autopsy earlier this week determined Mohamoud died of a gunshot wound.

Police also identified Ahmed Mohammed Abdirahman, 21, as the victim of a shooting at a townhouse complex in the area of 89th Street and 148th Avenue in north Edmonton Tuesday night.

Investigators have already said they believe the incidents are unrelated.

There have been three homicides in Edmonton this week.

Early Sunday morning, the body of 39-year-old Richard Joseph Whitford was discovered lying on the ground between two apartment buildings in the area of 115th Street and 107th Avenue.

Police said Whitford died of a stab wound.
