Over 300 Edmontonians bedecked in tutus and leotards converged on the Edmonton Expo Centre today to participate in a marathon six-hour workout with one very special guest instructor.

The event was Bust a Move for Breast Health, hosted by the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The special guest? Renowned exercise guru Richard Simmons.

Participants danced, kick-boxed, Zumbad and yogad their way through the day before Simmons took overthe events finale.

Simmons, in his third appearance on behalf of the Alberta Cancer Foundation, sang and led the crowd through a few of his own choreographed routines in its final hour of fitness.

"I just have a crusade going here," Simmons said, regarding his dedication to promoting health through his own personal brand of humour.

"Cancer can strike any man, woman, child or teenager. There is no rhyme nor reason to this."

"I hope that maybe [the participants today] know that they raised money for a good cause and that theres hope," said Simmons.

"And when you have hope, you can cope."

The event raised $430,000towards 17 breast health centres across province, said Myka Osinchuk, CEO Of the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
