Rob Schneider donates proceeds from Edmonton shows to Fort McMurray relief

Rob Schneider raised spirits of Fort McMurray evacuees on Monday at a benefit show at West Edmonton Mall.

Known for his roles in Deuce Bigalow, The Hot Chick and The Benchwarmers, the actor and comedian donated all proceeds from his two shows during the You Can Do It! event at The Comic Strip towards Fort McMurray relief.

Around $65,000 was raised.

"Everybody should try to help, and the least I can do is put on a show," Schneider said.

"There's a real brotherhood up here that I really admire about all of Canada, and especially right now up here in Alberta."
