Secular education will be available to elementary students in Morinville, Alta.this fall.

All schools in Morinville are currentlyrun by Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, but earlier this year theneighbouring Sturgeon School Divisionagreed to offer non-religious education in the bedroom community north of Edmonton.

However, finding classroom spacein the townhas been difficult, said David Keohane, St. Albert schoolssuperintendent.

This weekthe district reached a deal with the Town of Morinville for space in thenew community cultural centre totemporarily house two classrooms for Grades1 to 4.

"We've looked for every innovative solution that we possibly can," he said. "The space is an ideal one.

"These meeting rooms are as nice or better than any existing classroom that exists within the province."

Students will be moved into modular classrooms once they arrive in Morinville in December, said Keohane.

Pre-school and kindergarten students will attendclasses in the parish hall.
