St. Paul man who died in shootout killed priest, RCMP allege
John Carlos Quadros died in shootout with police
RCMP believe that John Carlos Quadros, the man who died in a shootout with RCMP in St. Paul, Alta., is responsible for killing a Roman Catholic priest who was found dead a week ago.
Father Gilbert Dasna's body was found in the rectory next to St. Paul Cathedral last Friday.
Quadros died in a shootout with RCMP in downtown St. Paul the same day. The shooting is still under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
The medical examiner determined that Dasna died as a result of gunshot wounds. The cause of Quadros death was not released.
This is the first time that RCMP have officially linked the two deaths.
Quadros owned a health store in downtown St. Paul called Health Mart 2000. The store is located just a few steps away from St. Paul Cathedral.
The funeral for Father Dasna will take place Monday.
