Tallcree First Nation evacuation over, 200 allowed home

About 200 people forced from their homes by wildfires in a remote northern Alberta community can go home.

Currently 93 fires burning in Alberta, 37 out of control

About 200 people forced from their homes by wildfiresin a remote northern Alberta community can go home.

RCMP say the evacuation order affecting the North Tallcree FirstNation has been cancelled.

At one point flames from the fires came within three kilometresof the reserve.

The community was evacuated Thursday as a precaution, with manypeople leaving for nearby High Level.

RCMP say firefighters worked long and hard to protect thecommunity.

An Alberta official says there are 93 wildfires burning in theprovince Tuesday, including 37 listed as out of control. No new fires have started in the last 24 hours.
