With Remembrance Day still days away, thieves have already taken off with five or six poppy donation boxes this year.

Gwen Beasley from the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund said one box was stolenyesterday and two the day before.

"They just go into the store and snatch them and run,"she said.

"It's a little less money coming in, obviously, because somebody thought that they needed it worse than we did."

Beasley doesnt know how much money was taken. The incidents have been reported to police.

She hopes that the incidents were caught on video.

Beasley says the Legion counts on people to be honest enough to leave the donations boxes alone.
