A benefit is being held in Rocky Mountain House on Friday to help a local family rebuild a barn that collapsed under the weight of heavy snow last month.

The collapse on the Semmelink family farm killed ten cows and six calves, causing the family to fear for the future of their dairy operation.

Devon Semmelink says the support his family has received since the collapsehas blown him away.

Now seeing the level of community support and the volunteers and the people we don't know and the companies that had nothing to do with us stopping by and helping now that I've seen the support,it's more than I ever could have imagined, he said.

The benefit concert will feature music, food and a silent auction.

The donated items include a septic tank worth more than $6,000 and a water well valued at almost $4,000.
