Shooting in east Hamilton leaves 53-year-old man dead, police say
Police investigating if killing was connected to another shooting
A shooting in east Hamilton on Friday hasleft a 53-year-old man dead, police said Saturday.
Police saidthey arrived at the area of Sanford Avenue North and Acorn Street on Friday after 4 p.m. following the shooting and found the man inside a residence.
The man has been identified by police asRobert Barberstockandwas confirmed to have died from a gunshot wound.
"Police believe this was a targeted attack and are currently looking for three to four male suspects who were seen fleeing from the scene," read a news release.

.The homicide unit is now investigating the case.
Also on Friday, police say they found a man with a gunshot wound at theRed Rose Motel, around seven kilometres furthereast.
Police say they are investigating to determine whether this incidentwas connected to the homicide. The man was found wounded "shortly before 4:30 p.m.," according to police.
The 38-year-old man suffered gun shot wound to the leg and is now in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
