Boxing Day shots fired into a Beasley home: police

Police say a man fired a gun into a Mary Street house just before 11 p.m.

Police are looking for a suspect after someone fired gunshots into a Beasley house on Boxing Day while the residents were home.

Hamilton police say officers responded to reportsof a shooting just before 11 p.m.on Mary Street between Cannon Street East and Robert Street.Police still don't know the motive.

"Several shots were fired into a residence," police said in a press release. The people who lived there were at home, but no one was injured.

Police suspect the shooter is a man they saw running away and "jumping into a nearby vehicle." He wore a red T-shirt and blue jeans.
