Metrolinx to hold Big Move public consultation meetings in Hamilton

Metrolinx to hold public meetings

The agency will discuss plans for improving transportation in the city over next 25 years

Metrolinx wantsHamiltonians to share their thoughts on the provincial agency's plans for overhauling the transportation network in both Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area over the next two decades.

Metrolinx, Ontario's regional transportation agency for Hamilton and the GTA, will be hosting three consultation meetings in Hamilton and Dundas in the coming weeks. The subject of the public forums will be the agency's Big Move project.

The Big Move plan will steer transit-related development in the region over the next 25 years. Among other things, it will see the building of more than 1,200 kilometres of rapid transit and 7,000 km of bike lanes and pedestrian walkways.

During the meetings, which are being framed as public conversations, officials will present their plans for Hamilton in roundtable discussionsand answer questions from the public.

The meetings will take place on Feb. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Hamilton; Feb. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Dundas Town Hall, and March 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at McMaster Innovation Park.
