3 more deaths of people with COVID-19 in Hamilton on Tuesday

A woman in her late 90s fromIdlewyld Manor died on Sunday. A man in his early 90s from theVillage of Wentworth Heights died on Monday. A woman in her early 70sfrom Hamilton also died on Monday.

There were just 26 new positive tests, making the cumulative total2,769 since March

Three more deaths in Hamilton have been linked to the novel coronavirus.

A woman in her late 90s fromIdlewyld Manor died on Sunday. A man in his early 90s from theVillage of Wentworth Heights died on Monday. A woman in her early 70sfrom Hamilton also died on Monday. She wasn't living in an institution.

Hamilton Public Health Services reportsCOVID-19 has been linked to 81 deaths in the city.

But the number of new cases on Tuesday was noticeablylower than it has been in the past few days.

There were just 26 new positive tests, making the cumulative total2,769 since March.

There are 337 people who are actively infected.

Hamilton hospitals are treating23 COVID-19 patients and2,345 cases have been resolved.

New outbreak at Rainbow Hill Cleaning

Six workers at Rainbow Cleaning on Greenhill Avenue have COVID-19.

The outbreak was reported on Monday.

Meanwhile, the outbreak at Good Shepherd Women's Services is over, according to public health.

The largest active outbreak is at Chartwell Willowgrove with 49 total cases (52 residents, 27 staff).

Fortinosworker has COVID-19

A staff member at a Fortinos in Hamiltonhas tested positive for COVID-19.

Loblaw posted online about the infected worker on Tuesday.

The store is on Centennial Parkway North.

"The last day the team member worked was on Nov. 21," reads the notice.

"In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores."

Outbreak at Revera Dover Cliffs Long-Term Care Home

The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Revera Dover Cliffs Long-Term Care Homein Port Dover on Tuesday.

The care home said in a statement that one staff member has tested positive.

"The staff member is at home in self-isolation," reads the message from Revera. "All residents are in isolation in their rooms and are being monitored twice a day for symptoms."

Indoor and outdoor visitsare now cancelled with the exception of designated family caregiver visits and essential visits for palliative residents.

Revera adds that individual recreation activities will continue to maintain social engagement, but said all staff are screened at the start and end of shifts and the care home is undergoing enhanced cleaning.

Haldimand andNorfolk counties recorded627confirmedcasesof COVID-19 throughout the pandemic.

There are 38 active cases in the counties, while 552 cases are resolved.

Thirty-two deaths are considered COVID-related.

Brant

Eight new cases of COVID-19were reported this weekendfor a total of 456 confirmed cases.

There are 69 active cases and382 resolved cases.

Five people with the virus have died. Two people are in hospital.

Halton

Twenty-eightmore cases were foundin Halton on Tuesday, for a total of 3,333over the course of the pandemic.

Of those, 570are active and 2,709resolved. Fifty-fourpeople have died.

Looking atBurlingtonspecifically, sevenmore people were infected,for a total of 835.

Sixteen people have died, while 694 cases are resolved and 125are active.

Niagara

Niagara hasrecorded1,998cases.

There have been 1,709resolved cases but 208cases are still ongoing.

The region has 16outbreaks and the virus has killed 81 people.
