Heat warning continues Tuesday, 'most significant heat event' in years

Here's a look at the weather you can expect in Hamilton today.

Expect a high of 31 C

Expect a mainly sunny daywith ahigh of 31C. A heat warning remains in effect for Hamilton with the Humidex reaching 43 C expected. Environment Canada says "The extreme heat event will continue through Thursday. This will be the most significant heat event in the past few years."

The national weather agency says "Overnight low temperatures are expected to be in the low twenties, except high teens in some rural areas, providing little or no relief from the heat."

Environment Canada says it expects temperatures to coolby Friday with the passage of a cold front.
