Hamilton-area lookouts featured on Ontario list of best places to view fall colours

Have you ever wondered where the bestplaces across the province are to soak inthe reds, golds and oranges of autumn leaves before they're gone? Here are a few suggestions.

With cooler weather comesthe breathtaking colours of fall.

But have you ever wondered where the bestplaces across the province are to soak inthe reds, golds and oranges of autumn leaves before they're gone?

Destination Ontario has put together a list trying to answer that exact question, and the"11 Ultimate Ontario Fall Colour Lookouts"includes a fewlocations Hamilton residents might find familiar.

Near the top of the list is Dundas Peak.

A popular location for both outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking Instagram-worthy snaps, the lookout offers a scenic viewof the Dundas Valley along with access to Webster and Tews waterfalls.

The guide does note that weekday visits are recommended as the trails and parking can get crowded on weekends.

"With sheer cliffs, cave systems and rock crevices, this spot is a mecca for rock climbers," states Destination Ontario, adding the Niagara Escarpment Cliffs provide several spots to look out over theNassagaweya Canyon below.

The list also features a few destinations for adventurous souls living in the GTA, but looking to escape the city.

Anyone looking to clamber over some lakeside cliffs can check out the trails along the Scarborough Bluffs and the Cheltenham Badlands feature a unique geological setting to showcase splendidfall coloursagainst rusty red shale.
