Hamilton police investigate string of 8 church break-ins since January
The most recent break-in was in the early morning hours on Tuesday
Hamilton police are investigating a string of eight church break and enters, the most recent of which happened early morning on Tuesday.
Police say they began investigating the break-ins on Jan. 14and identified three white male suspects in their 30s or 40s. Police say they will not share the names of the churches because of "ongoing surveillance and investigative measures."
Police say the suspects stole cash donations and electronics from the churches.
At least one otherHamilton placeof worship hasalso been burglarized within the same time period. IbrahimJame mosque was broken into around 2 a.m. on Jan. 14.
Last year,Hindu SamajTemple on the Mountain was broken into on Feb. 2.
Police arrested and charged a 47-year-old man on Jan. 25 in connection to the mosque break-in, saying he was tied to "a rash of over 85 break and enter investigations,"mostly targeted at auto garages.
Police said Thursday there "is no known connection"between the church break-ins and the break and enter at the mosque or the temple.
