Brant County has a new mayor forthe first time since becoming a single-tier municipality.

David Bailey toppledlongtime mayor Ron Eddy in Monday's municipal election.

"It was a hard fought campaign and I'm grateful for the support that I received from so many people," Bailey told the BrantfordExpositor. "I had a lot of support from the people of Paris and I had a lot of support from many of the former Brant County wardens and reeves."

Meanwhile, pilot KristalChoppwas elected mayor in Norfolk County.
