Six Nations confirms 4 new cases of COVID-19

All of the new patients havebeen in self-isolation since experiencing symptoms and Ohsweken Public Health officials areundergoing contact tracing for each person.

Six Nations of the Grand River confirmed four new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to seven infected people in its territory.

The four positive test results came in Wednesday afternoon,according to a news release.

The release adds all of the newly confirmed people havebeen in self-isolation since experiencing symptoms.

Ohsweken Public Health officials areundergoing contact tracing for each person.

"Now is the time to increase our diligence as a community. COVID-19 is here and we must re-double our efforts to slow the spread and save lives," Chief Mark Hill said in the release.

"Now is the time to show the true strengthof our community by taking all necessary precautions to slow the person-to- person contact."

This comes after Six Nations restricted access toits territory on Monday to try to preventspread of the virus.

It also follows news of a plainclothes Six Nations officer testing positive for the virus.
