Boy falls 30 feet at Albion Falls Sunday

Hamilton Fire rescued a boy from Albion Falls Sunday afternoon. This is the fifth rescue in the month of June.

Hamilton firerescued a boy at Albion Falls Sunday afternoon after falling approximately 30 feet.

Fire crews responded to a call around 2:13 p.m. Sunday thata child had fallen at Albion Falls.

Hamilton fire spokesman, ClaudioMostaccitold CBC fire crews put the boy in a stretcher and carried him out.

Fire crews didn't have to perform a full rope rescue.

The child was given to paramedics minutes after fire crews made contact with him.

"It was a quick response by getting him up that way and they were able to get him in the hands of paramedics to transport to hospital," said Mostacci.

This is the second rescue Hamilton fire has had to do this weekend.

On Saturday evening a male hiker was taken to hospital with a leg injury after crews performed a rope rescue to get him at Webster Falls.

Sunday's rescue marks the fifth this monththe previous four weredone by rope rescue at both Albion Falls and Webster Falls.
