Hamilton police arrest Toronto woman after hit and run

The 30-year-old woman failed to remain at the scene near McMaster University.

A Toronto woman is charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian Tuesday night near McMaster University.

Hamilton Police said the 30-year-old was driving westbound on Main Street West around 8:45 p.m.Tuesday.

A woman washit at the intersection at Westbourne Road, and the driver didn't stop after the pedestrian was struck, police said.

The 20-year-old victim went to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver later returned to the intersection and was arrested. She is being held for bail.
