Hamilton sees more COVID-19 cases at local schools

One student has tested positive at Ancaster High School, and there are 14 active cases in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board as of Thursday morning.

One student at Ancaster High School has tested positive, according to the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.

The board said itwas notified of the case on Wednesday.

There are no close student or staff contacts, said the board, and the risk to others is low.

"The student was not in the building when there would be a risk of exposure," said a letter to the school community.

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board said there are 14 active cases of the virus right now.

One student atSt. David Catholic Elementary School was reported as testing positive on Nov. 4. That studentwaslast in the buildingon Nov. 2.

This comes after another student at the school tested positive on Tuesday. That studentwaslast at the school on Oct. 28.

Also on Nov. 4, Cathedral High School said that two students had tested positive. Both students were last in the building on Oct. 30.

A student also tested positive at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School on Wednesday.The student waslast at the school on Oct. 28.

Niagara

In Niagara,Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School reported one new COVID-19 case on Nov. 4.The board said there is no risk of transmission to the school community.
