The next total eclipse of a supermoon won't happen until 2033

The supermoontotal lunar eclipsewas seen by people in Canada, the United States, Europe, Africa and western Asia last night.
NASA says asupermoon is a full or new moon that falls closest to the fall equinox, and is at its closest approach to the Earth. This results in the moon appearing up to 14% larger in diameter. Last night this happened along with a lunar eclipse. That's whenthe moon passes directly behind the Earth into its shadow. This can give the moon a red tint.
Both events are rare.The next total eclipse won't happen until 2018, and the next total eclipse of a supermoon won't happen until 2033.
